Warrick's

Career.

Warrick has lived and breathed sports architecture. Graduating from university in the mid-nineties with his architecture degree (writing his thesis on Stadium Design in the 20th century), he commenced his career at the world’s leading Sports Architecture firm, Populous (formerly HOK Sport) in 1998 where he was Project Architect for the Westpac (now Sky) Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand.

Shortly after he moved to London to work on the redevelopment of one of the icons of world sport – Wembley Stadium – where he was a senior team member of the Populous (then HOK Sport) Design Team working alongside Foster and Partners.

Upon his return he was project lead for the much heralded Cbus Stadium (formerly Skilled Park) on the Gold Coast, used primarily for the Gold Coast Titans NRL team but also for other codes and events and for the Rugby 7’s during the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

He was the Project Leader for the Stage 2, 3 and 4 redevelopments at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong from 2008 to 2017 and also the Stage 5 Redevelopment due to be completed this year. Additionally, Warrick was the Project Leader on the redevelopment of the Sydney Showgrounds Main Arena which became GWS Giants Stadium and is used for AFL and T20 Cricket plus the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

In the last decade, Warrick has also been heavily involved in designing Elite Training Facilities and has led the design and development of new training and administration facilities for many of the premier sporting clubs within Australia, across all codes.

Through this experience, Warrick has developed specific skills in the design and delivery of complex sport facility projects. He has excellent client liaison skills through his amiable, collaborative nature and takes great care to understand their needs.
